Philosophical thought for the day
Does anyone in Ambridge tune their radion into Radio 4 at 7pm of a weekday? If so, what do they hear? If not, why not?

That’s right… and it’s long been one of my major criticisms of all soaps. Nobody in East-Enders discusses Big Brother. I can forgive them for not discussing East-Enders, but if you go into any pub, where the average age is under 50 at least, you’ll find that soaps are one of the big topics. Football, of course, and then soaps. And now, “reality” TV.
Nice little snippet in the new D&P series, where they’re all in hospital, and one bit of dialogue is introduced by the signature tune of “Casualty” just ending…

Well, as you point out, now that reality TV is such a common currency for pub discussion, surely the folk in The Archers should discuss that Farming reality show on Radio 4 every evening.

That’s funny.
