Apple Mac Mini review at The Register
I’ve done a rather longer and more in-depth review of Apple’s Mac mini over at The Register. No “face to fascia” joke though. Ah me.

You said that Pages did not have a word count feature that is essential to many users. Try the View menu, then Show Inspector, then the Info tab. A useful set of information is displayed including a word count.
Other than that - good review.
Cheers

The essential thing that’s missing from that word count feature is the length of a *selection*. When you have five text elements on a page (say) it’s important to know how many words one or the other should have written for it. Perhaps it’s my journalism / layout background, but I need to know that stuff; if you have many people working on a document to a time, then it needs that.
Also, I didn’t review Pages in The Register. I’ll move these comments to the correct post presently.

Comes with Apache, Perl, PHP and *Python* already on board, thank you very much. ;-)

Hmmm. I’m beginning to think there’s something in this Mac stuff you keep banging on about so eloquently, Charles. With a bit more help on Windows to Mac migration for consumers, the Mac Mini is going to do very well. Safer home computing with style.
