Gmail invites - I got them if you want them
Seems that I have loads of Gmail invites to dispense. (50, at latest count.)
If you’d like one, just leave a comment with your email in the email field of the comment on this post, with the reason why you’d like a Gmail invite. Your email won’t be publicly visible. I’ll deal with them.
I find it works pretty well, and you can download it to your PC (like a normal POP mailbox) if you like.
(Side note: if anyone has managed to get Eudora 5.x on OSX to do POP access to Gmail, do let me know how. I’ve followed all the instructions, but Eudora is completely ignoring the account - won’t even check it.)
(Eudora update: this document suggests that Qualcomm broke SSL in the upgrade to 5.2. Durr! However, following the instructions, Eudora still won’t actually check my Gmail POP account, which I have enabled..)

- Gmail is broken. Or its POP forwarding is. (16 August 2006; score: 50.79%)

Just finished my phd, which means my cam address is soon to be no more, and my yahoo account is full of spam, which makes it kind of annoying.

GMail has never appealed to me. I quite like all my emails being on my computer, rather than Google’s servers. Probably because I don’t switch machines that much day-to-day.
But this article from John Maeda, about the iPod, hardware, software and consumer infotronics is pretty interesting.

Gmail invites seem to be readily available nowadays. My allocation regularly gets bumped up to 50. Also, there are over 1/2 million invites available from www.isnoop.net/gmailomatic.php
In response to Small Paul, you can now have POP access with Gmail which means you can download all your messages to your own email client and leave a copy on Gmail for archive/backup/access anywhere, etc.

Jim and Mark, your emails (to yahoo.com and privacy.ca) both bounce. I’ve tried twice. Kind of hard to send you an invite in that situation.
Still 98 invites….

I’ve had very awful experiences with other emails, my aol sucked big time, my yahoo is also full of spam, and hotmail has closed three of my accounts out of nowhere, I’m fearing the moment it’ll happen again. I’d love one if available. Thank you.
