If you outlaw mobile phones on planes, only.. everyone will use mobiles
Nice analysis by Guy Kewney on Newswireless.net about how the US legislature is getting worked up over mobile use on phones. Terrorists might use them! As indeed might ordinary people, as happened during the September 11 attacks.

Yes, they are labouring under this delusion that terrorists will ask for permission before acting. It must be something about how the politico-bureaucratic mind gets cranked out of shape after a while of existing in a legislative organisation where you always have to follow rules about what you do.
