- When you stop bothering with the news…
Fraser Spiers discovers that he has much more time to, well, I dunno, but he’s stopped worrying about the bits of the world that are blowing each other up. The extract from The Day Today is priceless - if horribly true. Except I can’t help thinking that one ought to be more interested in stuff beyond one’s purview, if only so you can work out why someone would let off a bomb or three in the underground. I’m a bit of a news bolemic, I binge and purge. I find I need the break from time to time for my own stress. And truth be told if you’ve read a lot of news and take a break from it for a few months it’s quite easy to jump back in.
This is purely subjective but I do find my breaks from the news to be good for my soul. I’m a lot more chilled out when I’m not reading several horror stories a day.
